Sotsiaalmeediasse on pandud video, kuidas eestlaste ja soomlaste seas populaarne Ta turismilinn Phuket upub. Seal sadas ööpäevaga maha üle 140 millimeetri sademeid.
Linna tänavad on muutunud jõgedeks. Vesi ja muda viivad endaga kaasa autod ja rollerid. Elumajad ja hotellid on üle ujutatud. Eriti hull on olukord turismikeskuste poolest tuntud Patongi piirkonnas.

Patong landslide damages homes and businesses; no deaths reported
A landslide swept rocks and mud into Patong’s Nanai neighborhood early on October 26 after heavy rain triggered flash floods in Phuket. More than 100 households and businesses were affected. No deaths had been reported.
Crews cleared debris around Soi Nanai 5 and 8, while shelters opened and relief teams distributed food and water. Tourist police reported no injured tourists, although an overall injury count remained unconfirmed. Authorities warned of further flooding and mudslides as more rain was forecast.
People’s Party Phuket MP Chalermpong Saengdee visited affected residents and urged the government to clarify compensation eligibility, including coverage for tourists’ damaged property, and fund drainage upgrades. He also requested more cleanup personnel and an investigation into whether hillside land clearing had been legally authorized.
