❗️US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Ukraine wants access to the Starshield system but currently does not have it: it is a contract with the US Army and has nothing to do with Ukraine. According to him, Kyiv requested access to Starshield in order to carry out strikes deep into Russian territory. Rubio emphasized that Starshield and Starlink are completely different products: Starlink is commercial and regulated as such, while Starshield is a military product for the US Armed Forces.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Starshield is not available to Ukraine at the moment, that Ukraine has made a request to use it for long-range strikes on Russia, and “I’m not sure Zelenskyy knows what he’s talking about”.
Regarding Starlink, he said the slowing down “sort of happened”, no one ordererd it, and the speed is “back to where it was before.”
Comment from me: Ukraine has been using Starshield, for various combat missions. Starlink speed has not been restored, according to Ukrainian officials.
Starlink is vital not just for the frontline missions but for protecting Ukrainian civilians – it is used for interceptor drones that take down Russian jet-powered drones flying at a very high speed.
