Maailma Terviseorganisatsioon WHO edastas maailma riikidele sõnumi, et koroonaviiruse proovid tuleks võtta kõigilt kahtlusalustelt, mitte ainult üle 60-aastastelt.
Samuti soovitab WHO isoleerida nakatunud isikud eraldi meditsiiniasutustes, et hoida ära haiguse edasi kandumist ning tagada vajalik ravi. Paljudes riikides on aga kergemate juhtumite puhul haiglate kohad täis.
WHO peadirektor dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus andis teada, et WHO on saatnud 120 riiki laiali kokku 1,5 miljoni koroonaviiruse testikomplekti ja ollakse valmis koguseid vajadusel suurendama.
Testida, testida, testida, soovitab WHO ja lisab, et tegemist on tõsise haigusega. Kuigi suuremas ohus on üle 60-aastased, on raskelt haigestunud ja surnud ka nooremad inimesed, sealhulgas lapsed.
.@WHO advises that all confirmed #COVID19 cases should be isolated in health facilities, to prevent transmission & provide adequate care. But we recognize that many countries have already exceeded their capacity to care for mild cases in dedicated health facilities.

Every day, more tests for #COVID19 are being produced to meet the global demand.
WHO has shipped almost 1.5 million tests to 120 countries. We’re working with companies to increase the availability of tests for those most in need.https://t.co/HNSrk9lxkT

“Once again, our key message is:
test,
test,
test. This is a serious disease. Although the evidence we have suggests that those over 60 are at highest risk, young people, including children, have died”-@DrTedros #COVID19 #coronavirus
