Ukraina pealinn Kiiev mattus pärast eilseid Venemaa rünnakuid pimedusse.
Märgitakse, et elektrivarustuse probleemide tõttu seiskus osa ühistranspordist, metroo töötas katkendlikult ning teedel tekkisid hiiglaslikud ummikud. Metroojaamade eskalaatorid seisid.
Kiievi kanalisatsioonisüsteem ei võta ajutiselt vastu heitvett Borštšahivka piirkonnast.
Väidetavalt kadus elekter isegi kesklinnast ja parlamendi hoonest.
Kiievi linnapea Vitali Klõtško kutsus üles linnast lahkuma neid Kiievi elanikke, kellel on linnast väljaspool sugulasi või sõpru. Ta märkis, et häired veevarustussüsteemis võivad põhjustada üsna ulatusliku kriisi – linn on juba liikumas ellujäämisrežiimile.

🇺🇦 KYIV IN DARKNESS: Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have triggered widespread power outages across the capital, temporarily shutting down the entire metro system and disrupting electric public transport.
Footage from central Kyiv shows Shevchenko Park in darkness, with street lighting out and trolleybuses reportedly stranded along roads.
The Kyiv City State Administration confirmed that a sharp drop in external power supply forced metro trains and escalators to stop operating. Tram and trolleybus services were also disrupted, while emergency blackouts affected several districts.
Ukraine’s Energy Ministry says Russian attacks damaged elements of the electricity network supplying the capital. Repair crews are working to restore power, and metro services have begun resuming.
The disruption comes amid another wave of Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure, as the country approaches winter.
