Legendaarne suusahüppaja Matti Nykänen maetakse oma isa kõrvale Jyväskyläs. Inimesed saavad kõrvalt jälgida matuste leinarongkäiku.
Matusepäevaks on kinnitatud laupäev, 2. märts. Leinatalitus on privaatne, aga matusepäeval on korraldatud leinarongkäik, mis kulgeb kabeli juurest Laajavuorisse, kus asub Nykäneni auks nimetatud hüppemägi.
Rongkäigu korraldamisel osaleb vastavalt kokkuleppele lähedastega Jyväskylä linn. Matustel linn kaasa ei löö, seda korraldavad lähedased. Matusekulud katab kuni 20 000 euro ulatuses Soome riik, vahendab Ilta-Sanomat.
Soome ühele läbi aegade edukaimale sportlasele, mägikotkale Matti Nykänenile (1963-2019) on kavas püstitada sünnilinna Jyväskylässe ausammas. Jyväskylas on suunatud ligi 100 inimest karantiini kahes õppeasutuses, kus tuvastati koroonaga nakatumised. Asjast teatas eile neljapäeval Jyväskylä linn. Norssi gümnaasiumis on nakatumise tõttu karantiinis 56 õpilast ja kaks õpetajat. Nad puutusid nakkusega kokku 7. septembril. Jyväskylä kutsekõrgkoolis tuvastati üks nakatumine. Jyväskyläs Keski-Palokka koolis oli ulatuslik kokkupuude koroonaga, mistõttu suunati karantiini kokku 171 inimest. Karantiini määratutest on 148 põhikooli õpilased ja 23 kooli töötajad.
