Türgis Istanbulis kogunesid täna laupäeval, 29. märtsil tänavale miljonid inimesed Recep Tayyip Erdoğan autoritaarse režiimi vastu meelt avaldama.
Tänavale tulid tudengid, töölised ja pered, et nõuda demokraatiat, õiglust ja vabadust. Kokku kogunes Istanbulis tänavale hinnanguliselt 2,2 miljonit inimest.
Erdoğan on vaigistanud kohaliku meedia, mis ei kajasta massilisi meeleavaldusi.
Meeleavaldused algasid pärast Istanbuli linnapea Ekrem İmamoğlu vahistamist. İmamoğlu on Erdoğani peamine rivaal valimistel.
