Eesti programmeerijate kaasabil loodud suhtlusteenus Skype lõpetab alates tänavuse, 2025. aasta maikuust tegevuse ja sulandatakse Microsofti keskkonda Teams.

Alates maikuust enam Skype ei tööta.

Kommentaarides märgitakse, et Skype’i enam eriti keegi ei kasuta.

Microsoft lõpetas Skype’i klassikalise versiooni toetamise 2018. aasta novembris. 2024. aasta suvel üritas ettevõte Skype’i Windows 11-s taaselustada, eemaldades reklaamid ja parandades teenuse jõudlust.
